Underneath everything we do, something quieter is always moving. Dream, being, becoming, the fluid inner life caught before it sets into form.

We carry the ones who came before us. Here they take form, my mother and my father, and the ancient ones behind them, older than any name I have.

Bone and clay that gaze back. Fiercely loving, they watch over us and protect us mostly from ourselves.

Dal means branch in Turkish. Found wood from places that mattered, bound back together with wire. I try to hold their meaning in place, knowing the wood and the wire will both let go in the end, when rust takes over.
